These roads are relatively little known, and for the most part are lightly trafficked except for locals. It's quite remote and can get very hot out here. Make sure you have adequate fuel, and carry some drinking water as well. Cell phone coverage is spotty.
The roads are narrow and a bit rough, and definitely have some surprises for the unwary. That said, it's a great area to play, and I rarely miss the opportunity if I'm in the area. Spring is the best time out here when the grass is still green and the wildflowers are in bloom in a riot of color. April and May are ideal.
