A nice road but, as stated, the surface can be poor.

I love this road i usully do this as a preclude ride onwards towards bury then over to ipswich & up & round to stratistshall this would & does make itan all day ride full of fun 7 some good places to stop for food enroute

This route is geat, but I'd agree with the remark about gravel and dirt on the roads. Poxy tractors and floods can make the stretch between Bures and Sudbury a bit hazardous at times. Between East Bergholt and Bures is truly fantastic, though. Barely any traffic about and surface is largely superb.

Lovely roller coaster of a road, especially after West Bergholt. The good bit starts with a long, long straight followed by the forementioned roller-coaster. One or two villages with 30mph limits and Bures itself (follow your nose through the town, left after the bridge). Have been told by the locals to be careful of gravel on corners, washed down after heavy rain.
