Rode this from Burgui down towards lake Yesa in August 2011. Good fun, and worth riding, but not up there with the best Pyrenees roads. Not sure what it's like north of Burgui though. Link this with the road from Burgui to Navascués. Now that is a stunner :)

Good scenery, watch out for ponies and what they leave behind.Rode here summer 08, surface quite good on this lower section.

Great road and fantastic scenery. Did this road at summer of 2007 and the road surface was very good. As aardvark says, have a stop and watch the eagles, I did ;)

Did this 2005 from the top, where frost heave has broken the surface, down thru'the steep sided valley. Great fun when on the new surface with no traffic. Stopped and watched the eagles riding the thermals. The 360 degree bend novel!

Great road leading up to the roncal pass, the roads surface is excellent low down but can be quite bad towards the top where the snow has broken up the tarmac over winter. The pass can be closed until late may so check first but it is well worht it as the road back down into france is just as good.
