Heading south it winds up to a small ski area, and then comes back down. The coming down bit was nice. There were few views though.
The lack of traffic and so on is nice but for Austria it did not feel so special.
Postalm runs between Pichl on the B162 and Weißenbach on the B158 near to Wolfgansee. The centre section is a Private Toll Road and costs €4,- per motorcycle. The road passes through forests and mountains with a mixture of straights, sweeping kerbs and hair pins. On the whole the road surface is very good but there are a few short sections where it is a bit rough. At Postalm itself is a lovely cafe with another at the Toll booth on the Wolfgansee side.
A good route when doing a circular tour taking in Hallstat and The Lakes around Wolfgansee, Traunsee, Attersee and Mondsee.
When using Paß Geschutt (B166) you can cut the corner between Lammerer and Pichl taking in a pleasant narrow rural road.
