Have ridden this beautiful road twice and highly recommend it. We stayed the night in Eager so that we could tackle this road first thing in the morning. That allowed us to make plenty of stops and we really enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Was following my buddy when he had a black bear run across the path of his motorcycle. Not sure who was more scared! I look forward to doing this ride again and again.
TZ250Stumbled onto this road and was blown away, loads of fun. Very very technical, lots of hairpins and switchbacks, practically no straights anywhere at all. We had to go hard on this road as we started late in the day and by the time we got to the end it was completely dark. This road works all the way right to Clifton. You need to give this road plenty of time. The views are terrific but you need to stop at the viewing areas to see them, the road demands all your attention the whole way.
Would advise you to stay on the correct side of the road as many corners are so sharp that you cannot see round them.
However the road edges and centre line are clearly marked which helps plan the corners.
Very nice and twisty run north through the Apache National Forest. Recommended
sheepskin_slidersThis used to be called the Devils Highway.. 666. Ive ridden it and the twisties are exceptional, the views are amazing, and its one of the best routes you find in Arizona. Im riding it again on April 11, 2008 when we ride from Mesa, AZ to the AZ/NM border to meet up with some riders on my forum from Colorado. Ill update my review if anything has changed.
mcaswellBiking Nirvana in the mountains, one of the best roads out there. A must do if you're in the area.
