Try to do like this!
Go from S.bras de Alportel to Almodovar, get a good lunch there, them go to Monchique via Alferce.
It can put a big smile on your face!!!
Albeit a couple patches already applied and one very nasty corner with a cross-section irregularity, this is one road where I rediscovered the pleasures of motorcycle riding, after a few months of no bike...
If you go across Foia and then take the direction of Barragem Sta Clara, youll be complementing this road with yet another one, narrower, but to some, lots more fun.
A newly rebuilt road (in 2007) with heaven made sticky tarmac, lots of visibility on mostly wide and long corners and almost no traffic. Its an invitation for speed and knee down action.
The only downside are the unprotected barrier poles, probably illegal, since its a new road.
If its a clear day, you can take the opportunity to go trough Monchique and ride all the way to the top at Foia, there you will have a clear view south on the Algarve coast and the sea.
