The first half of Aufderheide Drive was great the second half was less so for me. I loved riding through the deep forest. The second half was re-growth forest and just not as scenic for me but nice for the few corners. It was a nice ride on a hot day because the woods kept you cool. At the southern end of Aufderheide Dr. I stopped overnight at Belknap Hot Springs. This was kind of an oasis. A nice hot spring soak helped ease any of the day´s riding pains.

What a fantastic road for blasting along, follow the McKenzie river South from the McKenzie Hwy and enjoy this excellent stretch.
