From Barham head towards and over A2 dual carriageway. First part of the route to Wingham is quite open with easy overtaking and generally good visibility with smooth corners. After Wingham towards Preston is much the same but narrower. After Preston the road is much narrower with farm exits and good mud in damp weather, plus tight and narrow 90 degree bends. Good pub by the River Stour at Plucks Gutter and small tea-bar at Marsh Farm Animal Sanctuary after river bridge at N51.280986 E1.232094)
