The southern section of this route was totally re-done 2 yrs ago, re-worked and re-surfaced, it's now race track smooth most of the way! It's a great route all the way, but the fun comes after the A5 at Betws-y-Coed. Watch out for the Tight S bends at the fairy glen hotel and as you go under the railway viaduct. The drop down into Blaenau ffestiniog is steep and tight, take it easy on this last section.

Climbing all the way from the coat to Blaenau Ffestiniog in the slate quarry region of Snowdonia. The early sections are faster with less demanding corners. Once you have crossed the A5 the road becomes twistier and more demanding. The views are quite spectacular in places. Can be busy in summer.
