I rated this higher than the last reviewer simply for the amount of corners and twisty roads, though the scenery is very good compared with exceptional elsewhere. This is a local ride for me, as I live in Whangaparaoa currently. Stay in Orewa (nice beach town), and start from there. Also worthwhile is another road along this route, but ill add another route for it.

Great ride. Mostly rural back roads with some short State Highway excursions. Watch for Police on State Highways.
