Holy cow, whatta ride! If you want twisties, this route has them by the bushel! I rode this in September 2010 and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Fairly decent tarmac and very little traffic. I rode this section at around 3 P.M. when most of the locals were still on their lunch break. Almost no traffic to speak of. Highly recommended.

One of many excellent mountain roads in this area - decent tarmac, plenty of twisties and not too much traffic when I was there. Made the mistake of staying in La Spezia when I was there - the traffic is a nightmare even by Italian standards, especially along the coast roads.

An exceptional ride, on any bike, cruise it or blitz it - just a never ending series of corners - really tight at first then it just gets better and better. Only a few villages along the route but the first 35k's there is only 4. Stop off at the top of the Bracco Pass at the Hotel/Bar La Baracca (18k's). At weekends all the local bikers meet up here. On the way back visit the Cinqe Terre (Five Lands/Villages) down the tightest silliest of country lanes I have ever seen you will find some of the most pleasant little fishing villages in Italy.
