I've ridden this a few times and the road is like a lot of the WAW route, a victim of it's own success. Soooo many buses and hire cars, and so few places to get an overtake, you need to drop your mind into car mode, and just go with the (very slow) flow! Some spectacular scenery to look at mind...

I believe that a 5am ride will give you some fun in the Summer months...

I just did this route last weekend with a friend and with both of us on Harley Ultra Classics it made for some interesting cornering!
I didnt know that there were 3 or 4 hairpins on this road as I used to go to the Lisdoonvarna music festival many years ago and couldnt remember ever having seen them back then! Drink possibly is the reason! However they are there and along with them are several severe bends so be careful and keep the speed down and enjoy the view. In the summer expect to ride behind many tourists with lots of buses and motorhomes for mile after mile so factor that into your timetable.

This route has everything from long straights to sweeping bends... Road surface mainly good... Few spots to watch out for but mostly safe... Enjoy :-)
