Continue riding on the coastal road of Argolikos bay heading south and follow the route up to Leonidio. After Leonidio a windy road with low vegetation is giving to the rider a great feeling and views especially during winter with the river aside of the route running. The road ascends to the Parnonas mountain range and a stop is a must at the village of Kosmas. Park the bike below the huge tree lying in the centre of the village's plateau and from here there is a road sign towards the villages of Vambakou, Varvitsa, Vresthena and Karies. It's a beautiful forest road with great riding features (on/off bikes only),take this diversion if you are interested of remote and tiny country side roads.
The route continues through the beautiful Parnonas and the descending soon is starting giving nice views of the Lakonikos bay. Githio is a very small but picturesque town surrounded by the Greek kind of scenery and I must say that Githio is a must for the traveler (I am in love with the whole area). Githio can be the base and you can have many daily trips around the area. Also, there is a ferryboat for the islands of Kithira (4 hours) and Crete (8 hours).
