Heading from Foix->Perpignan on the D117 you will come to the village of Belesta, turn right onto the D9 (signed Chateau de Montsegur). After <1km the road splits, take the left fork (signed for Belcaire) which heads uphill and into several kms of uphill twisties through the Foret de Belesta. Stay on this road until a T junction with the D613. Turn left signed Quillan, after several sections of straights and twisties you come to a junction with D59, turn right onto D59 signed for Quillan. Be prepared to stop as the scenery is breathtaking. This shortly comes to a T junction with the D117. Turn right for Quillan and get ready for the Quillan Corkscrew, enjoy the smooth twisty descent and then get a bite to eat in Quillan.
ianbattersbyThis road has a bit of everything for everyone.
Some great twisty sections, some lovely sweepers, some cracking scenery (to look at if you stop!)and plenty of good places to eat along the way. My favourite bit of road is the Quillan Corkscrew the drop down to Quillan. I liked the road that much I now live on it!
A nice fairly unchallenging road with fast sweeping corners however it is wise to keep ones eyes in the distance and an eye out for cars flashing you because there is the occasional but infrequent radar trap between the villages of caudies and st Paul.
nigelGreat route, with some pretty good restaurants and biker hotels around. Especially in Caudies de Fenouilledes. There are a few off road tracks in the neighbourhood.
BolskiA fast road, which goes through a variety of scenery from wooded hills to valleys full of vineyards. Spectacular views and not too many towns to slow your progress.
