Nice day trip from Billings locals like to go to lunch in Red Lodge. The most spectacular Hiway in America....... Red Lodge is where you can add 120 miles and about 4 hours by going up the Beartooth Hiway to Cooke City and back which makes this a fun 10 hour day.If you do that, you would want to take HWY 296, the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway through Sunlight Basin on the return, which would bypass Red Lodge. Make sure you fill up your gas tank in Cooke City.
