A beautiful, short offshoot from the A95. South from Craigellachie on the A95 to Marypark and turn right for the bridge to cross the River Spey and onto the B9102. This well paved, twisty single track follows the west bank Spey for 15 miles to Granton-on-Spey. A gorgeous ride where pheasants and squirrels abound with the occasional deer. Theres a good ice cream shop on the main street in Granton thats well worth a break for ice cream, hot chocolate or pastries.
Starting from Keith you head towards Grantown on Spey on the A96, after the whiskey warehouses take the A95 and enjoy the sights and smells (fine malts) along the way. An excellent 180 degree bend at Ballindalloch which should be done a few times in each direction. A few twisty sections have too many double whites, so get past the cars when you see the signs. Watch out for the tourists and coaches. This route has recently been resurfaced over a lot of its length. This route can be tied in with other cracking roads in the area (see Pegsdowns route).
