Great twists _ up a pinned forest and then along a river
Many greek riders have learned cornering on this particular route. Marvelous green landscape along a river. Hazards: "Trial and error" is a common learning practice. So, be prepared that you might see some "newbie" motorcycle riders in the wrong lane. Also you have to check quite often your mirrors because there are always faster riders than you. Poor road lighting is making driving at night a lot more dangerous. In late of May every year, hundreds of people take a walk along this 40km route for a popular religious pilgrimage, even late at night. Suggested stop-off points: At Prokopi village for a decent "souvlaki" or baked flour- based food at a traditional Bakery/Patisserie. As already mentioned, Alexiou is a bikers friendly cafe on the side of the road close to Prokopi. For lovers of nature I would strongly recommend a stop to visit the Giant Platanus. It is a marvel of nature, a giant tree of 23m height and 18m log perimeter. To reach you have to walk for about 300m or make some easy off road riding including river crossing.
After the village Psaxna starts the show PREPARE FOR A SMALL ISLE OF MAN!!beware of first curves little traction!!avoid Sundays ,to much traffic dONT TRY TO FOLLOW THE LOCALS!!!AT Procopi villaga ask for ALEXIOU coffe shop and dont forget to order `loukoumades`!!! happy riding AS FAST AS YOU DARE!!!
A beautiful route through forest and next to rivers with lots of places to stop and enjoy nature!
This road is on the island of Evia. From Halkida, which is the principle town, you head north on the road numder 77 towards the town of Psahna. From here you stay on the 77 and the fun starts. It is a very technical road with bends every 100/200m for about 22 miles. The road winds its way through mountains and forests. Generally the road surface is very good, although there are a couple of places where it is a bit dodgy. The road can get a bit busy in the summer but is a favourite with bikers. About two miles after you pass through Proskopi there is a cafe where many bikers stop.
